Today, the National Screening Committee (NSC) have published their minutes outlining the proposed prostate screening programme for men with BRCA2 variants.

We note the recommendations of the NSC to offer national prostate cancer screening to men with a likely pathogenic/pathogenic BRCA2 variant and a family history of prostate, pancreatic, breast or ovarian cancer.
We note the screening recommendations of undertaking a PSA between the ages of 45-60 every 2 years.
We understand further discussions will occur next week with ministers to review and finalise the recommendations and will await these.
We will work with the NSC and DHSC following the publication of the final recommendations to ensure that our guidelines will align for consistency for our patients and clinicians.
We will update in due course.
