UK Cancer Genetics Group Travel Awards

The UK Cancer Genetics Group (UKCGG) would like to remind its members about the offer of various Awards. Please see the document below for details.

For all awards you must be a UKCGG member of at least a year and should apply via e-mail to the Treasurer, Bev Speight at beverley.speight@nhs.net.

To apply for membership of UKCGG, you must first become a member of BSGM.  

 

Membership Criteria

  1. Membership is open to anyone over the age of eighteen professionally involved with human genetics or genomics.
  2. Currently working (independently or in training) for a healthcare provider or academic institution and
    • providing or supporting the care of patients with genetic/genomic disorders or
    • involved in human genetic/genomic research or
    • researching the implications of genetic/ genomic practices on society.
  3. Has a proposer and seconder, both members of the BSGM (or evidence on CV which meets criteria 1 or 2). If the application is being made to join a constituent group, either the proposer or seconder should be a member of the same constituent group.

 

Subscription Fees

If your primary area of work/professional identity is in genetics/genomics, we welcome your membership as a full voting member (various membership rates are available).

If you are primarily a member of another healthcare professional group in the UK and Ireland with an interest in genetics/genomics (e.g. oncologist, paediatrician, nurse, midwife, pharmacist), please select our reduced-price affiliate member option.

  1. Member of British Society for Genetic Medicine (BSGM): £60
  2. Member of BSGM + Clinical Genetics Society (CGS): £70
  3. Member of BSGM + Association for Clinical Genomic Science (ACGS): £60
    • Member of BSGM + ACGS Agenda for Change Band 5 and below membership £20
    • Reduced price membership of BSGM + ACGS for members of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) (Licentiate, Member, or Fellow) £20
  4. Member of BSGM + Association of Genetic Nurses and Counsellors (AGNC): £70
    • Member of BSGM + AGNC Agenda for Change Band 5 and below membership £20

Student membership for categories 1-4 above: £20

  • Affiliate membership

For UK/Ireland healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, healthcare scientists, allied health professionals) with an interest in genetic/genomic medicine: £20

Special Interest Groups
Membership of UKCGG may be added to any of the above groupings for an additional £20

Affiliate members who are nurses and midwives should join the “Nurses and Midwives Group” to facilitate communication with the AGNC.
