The National Cancer Genetics MDT is a collaboration between UK CGG and the CanGene-CanVar Programme which aims to create a regular national forum to discuss challenging concepts and cases, with a view to improving and standardising care of patients with or at risk of inherited cancer predispositions across the UK.
The aims of the National Cancer Genetics MDT include:
Create a national multidisciplinary network and provide a regular forum to discuss complex cases.
Improve outcome and consistency of care for patients through multidisciplinary discussion with other expert colleagues.
Identify areas in which national guidelines are required or in need of updating.
Improve education and training in clinical cancer genetics.
Facilitate relevant publications arising from MDT content.
Each centre in the UK will have an opportunity to lead a session, with an opportunity to host either a session of mixed interesting/unsolved cases or a themed session.
If you have any cases to present, please send the details to UKCGGNationalMDT@icr.ac.uk and we will forward to the coordinating team.
Please note that there will not be a National MDT in March, as we will instead be hosting a joint meeting with our Dutch colleagues. Further information is available here.
